David Kennedy

David Kennedy is the Managing Director and founder of Kennedys Patent Agency. He is a registered UK and European Trade Mark attorney. David has extensive experience in all aspects of the provision of Trade Mark services and is frequently involved in strategic advice pertaining to international portfolio management and litigious situations.

Karen Veitch

Karen joined Kennedys in 1999 and advises on all aspects of Trade Mark protection and enforcement. Karen has substantial experience in handling a variety of contentious and non-contentious work including clearance searching, advising on filing strategy, prosecution of Applications, attending Trade Mark Registry Hearings, oppositions and revocations. As well as acting before the UK and Community Trade Mark Offices she has practical experience of prosecuting Applications internationally in a variety of countries including the US, Canada, South America and the Far East.

Karen acts for a wide variety of Clients including those in the pharmaceutical, entertainment, publishing, fashion and food and drink industries. Projects she has worked on include overseeing the change of ownership of a large global Trade Mark portfolio for a multinational in the biotechnology field. She also acts for a leading media organization eorking closely with in-house lawyers to protect well known brands.

Sharon Mackison

Sharon joined Kennedys in 2003 with a background in foreign language study. She handles a variety of aspects of Trade Mark protection, including clearance searching, filing and prosecuting Applications, and pursuing and defending opposition proceedings in the UK and Europe. She also has some experience of the filing and prosecution of Trade Mark Applications internationally, including in the Republic of Ireland and the US. Sharon is currently working towards gaining qualification as a UK and European Trade Mark Attorney.

Sharon has worked for a wide variety of Clients including those in the surgical dressing, cosmetic and perfume, alcoholic drinks and novelty gifts industries.
